Address book transfer

How can I transfer my address book details to my new phone?

Got a new phone? Need an easy way to transfer your existing contacts?
Not to worry, you've got some options which you can easily transfer your contacts to your new phone without having to add 20,000 contacts one by one.

1. SIM transfer - This is the most popular way to transfer your contacts.
On the phone book settings (or similar option) from your current phone, you should be able to find 'Transfer to SIM' option (or similar option). By selecting this, you can transfer all your contacts to SIM and all you need to do next is just take the SIM card out and put it in to your new phone. Then you can choose to transfer it again from your SIM to your new phone. How easy is that? Note that if your address book contains details such as e-mail addresses or home addresses, or if you want to use a bit more fancy way, you might want to consider using other options as per below.

2. VCF file transfer - You will need another source of memory device i.e. SD card, or your PC via USB cable.
Again, on the phone book settings (or similar option) from your current phone, you should be able to find 'Backup/Export' option (or similar option). By selecting this, you can backup all of your contacts to your SD card or to your PC in *.vcf file format. You can then simply import that file from your new phone from your SD card or PC.

3. Bluetooth transfer - Very similar to VCF file transfer but the cool part is that you can do it 'over the air'
Note that to use this method, both of your phones must have the Bluetooth function and have them enabled.
On your phone book settings (or similar option) from your current phone, you should be able to find 'Transfer contacts via Bluetooth' option (or similar option). It then transfers your contacts via *.vcf file format and send it to your new phone which you can import from your new phone.
Note that for some phones, you will need to export your phonebook to *.vcf file format (method2) first and send it via Bluetooth using file transfer option

There are also few other ways you can do this, but we'll leave you to Google it.
